Pizza Dough ala Darcy
Description
Delicious pizza dough recipe Darcy used at 2023 TITs weekend.
Ingredients
- 3 cups unbleached flour (can substitute 1 cup of whole wheat flour for 1 cup of unbleached flour if desired)
- 2 tsp quick-rise yeast
- 2 Tbl olive oil
- 2 tsp coarse kosher salt
- 1 cup hot water (may need more)
Directions
- Combine flour, yeast, oil, & salt in bowl of food processor fitted with metal blade. Turn machine on and slowly add water through the feed tube.
- Process for about 30 seconds – until mixture forms a ball (if dough is too sticky, add more flour).
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times. Put dough into a bowl (large enough for the dough to expand) and cover with plastic wrap. (from Darcy: I like to place the bowl in the sun for 1 – 2 hours).
Use immediately or wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze. If frozen, defrost in a covered bowl in refrigerator or at room temperature. Roll dough into desired size and shape on a floured work surface.
This recipe makes 2 nice-sized pizzas.
